Just around the corner on 49th, Patrick Loughlin from PDL Vintage is doing vintage his way—and the locals love it. We stopped by the beloved neighborhood shop to talk all things Hell’s Kitchen. Check it out below!
What’s your favorite part of being located in Hell’s Kitchen?
“Great question, there’s so many great parts about it. Just being in the center of Manhattan is amazing. Being able to have everything so close, at your fingertips. The chaos, which is sometimes good, sometimes bad. But the best part about Hell’s Kitchen is that you can escape the chaos but also be so close to it. Because it’s very peaceful over here towards 10th Avenue as you can see, not too much going on. Feels more like a community, as opposed to whatever’s over there [9th Ave]—which is still great, but it’s definitely a little chaotic. It’s good to be able to have both within a 5-minute walk. It’s rare.”
What’s your favorite thing to do in Hell’s Kitchen?
“Honestly just walk around and get a coffee, listen to the sounds of the city. Just enjoy it and get some food, there’s countless places to get good food at.”
What are some of your favorite spots in the neighborhood?
“My favorite spot is the Gossip Irish Bar and Restaurant over here; they have some of the best food. Also As Is might be right there with it, amazing food—great drinks, great staff at both places. I like a great Irish bar.”
