Your Guide to NYC During the World Fútbol Tournament
Everything you need to know for soccer, summer, and your NYC stay
This summer will be a big one for soccer fans, so here's your guide to navigating the city, with everything from how to get to MetLife to where to watch if you missed out on tickets.
How to get to MetLife Stadium from Romer Hell’s Kitchen
Get there in under 50 minutes by taking the E train (the station is right outside the hotel on the corner of 51st and 8th Ave) downtown to 42nd St-Port Authority. From there, just hop on the 160 Elmwood Park bus and get off at Stadium Lot G-17.
Where to Eat After the Match
For an elevated after-match experience, head back to Romer and into So & So’s, our piano bar behind the blue door. Enjoy everything from So & So’s Burger to Boozy Bread Pudding and pair it all with unbeatable cocktails and live music.
Where to Drink After the Match
Planning to keep the drinks flowing after the match? Head around the corner from Romer to As Is, where they’re pouring some of the best beer in the neighborhood. This local favorite serves craft beer, natural wine, cocktails, and more, making it the ideal spot for an after-match stop.
Where to Watch the Match
Not able to make it to MetLife for every match? A few blocks down 8th Ave, rooftop restaurant and lounge, Bar Sprezzatura, will be live streaming all the matches while offering a limited-edition selection of cocktails curated around the countries competing. Enjoy the soccer, soak in the rooftop view, and sip on spritzes all tournament long.
